The RISE Fund:  Ravenswood Is Student Excellence.

The Ravenswood School community continues to unite behind The RISE Fund, a fundraising funnel through which our community will gather additional resources to support and help advance our great school.

Our school community can't wait for lawmakers to fix the school funding situation, so we're banding together to support our kids.  Our hope is that over the years, the power of The RISE Fund will grow to support even more important programs, staffing needs and building upgrades, which will benefit all Ravenswood children.

Thanks to a school and community-wide effort during the 2008-2009 school year, The RISE Fund raised more than $40,000 in unrestricted cash for the school.  With a first-ever Fall pledge drive, shopping fundraisers, grants, a student-led Jump Rope for Ravenswood event, our SpringForward auction gala and more, we exceeded our $35,000 goal last year.  Thank you.  We couldn't have done it without your hard work and generosity.

By design, funds are turned over to the school in a timely fashion throughout the year and put to use right away.  That means, as another school year begins, we must get to work once again to build up The RISE Fund.

Plans are underway for more social events, grant-writing and corporate sponsorships to replenish the Fund, but we can only do it with your help.  Families can opt to make donations direclty to The RISE Fund at any time.  Remember, all contributions are important, whether you are able to give $1, $500  or $1,000.

On the surface, it is about fundraising.  But at its core, The RISE Fund is about making sure every student at Ravenswood School has the tools and the resources to rise to his or her fullest potential and biggest dreams.

Everyone who supports The RISE Fund will receive a RISE button to wear with Ravenswood pride.  Please think about how you and your family can contribute to your greatest ability, and unite with the school community.

There Are 2 Simple Ways to Make Your Contribution:

1.  By Check.  Please make checks payable to Friends of Ravenswood School and write "The RISE Fund" in the memo line.  Mail to: The RISE Fund, c/o Ravenswood Elementary School, 4332 N. Paulina St., Chicago, IL 60613.  Or, cash or checks may be dropped into the collection jar in the school office.

2.  By Credit Card Online.  To donate online, simply click on the secure Donate button below:

Proceeds from The RISE Fund will go directly to Ravenswood School.  Checks sent to The RISE Fund are managed by FORS (a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation), and all contributions to it are tax-deductible as allowed by law.  When names and addresses are provided with donations, all donations will be acknowledged with appropriate paperwork to accompany federal income tax filings.

Donations to The RISE Fund are also eligible for matching funds by employers who offer that benefit, which could greatly increase the impact of your gift.  If you’re not sure, please check with your company’s Human Resources Department.
