Ever wanted to know why earthquakes happen? How CD burners work? What the sun is made of? These questions, and a large amount of others related to computers/electronics, automobiles, science, entertainment, and people, are all answered at this award-winning Web site. Simply type a query into the search window or peruse the topics by category. Extras include free newsletters, surveys, and printable versions of all answers.

National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration
It doesn't sound like a cool name but they do have cool sites about weather, our oceans and coasts, weather changes and our planet.  Track storms, predict climates, see the Aquarius - an underwater habitat that sits 60 feet below sea level, learn more about Tsunamis, and protected marine species in the wild, and so much more.

Hubble Telescope
Visit the gallery and capture the extraordinary. Explore the universe through Hubble's eye, and witness the most dangerous, spectacular and mysterious depths of the cosmos. Or, visit the Explore Astronomy page and see the many mysteries the universe holds.  Further explore where some of the marvels that lie within our cosmic neighborhood and beyond.

Check out E-ThePeople, the place for intelligent and diverse student discussions and political action.  Make your voice heard.

Refdesk
This Reference Desk is a one-click site to many of the Web's top dictionaries, encyclopedias, calculators, atlases, news headlines, and search engines. The site also includes a handy "homework helper" section that provides help in all subjects to students in every grade.

Math.com
This site provides help in a number of mathematics-related subjects, including basic grade-school math, calculus, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and statistics. Practice exercises are automatically graded, plus this free site also features a glossary, calculators, homework tips, and math games.  Wait - did they just put 'math' and 'games' in the same sentence?

Science Made Simple
Is that possible?  Science classes and projects aren't as easy for some as for others. At Science Made Simple, you can get detailed answers to many of science's questions, read current news articles related to science, get ideas on school projects, and take advantage of unit conversion tables.  Now c'mon, that sounds like fun, doesn't it?  Users can also find out if their school's textbooks pass the test!

Students.gov is your gateway to the U.S. Government's help in planning your future education and career path.  Believe it or not, with a little research, you'll find that the U.S. Government really does have something to offer you!

Ravenswood Workshops & Clubs
Check out this page and ask your teacher about any workshop or club that interests you.

FirstClass
Communicate with other Ravenswood School students and teachers and access your homework, classroom resources & study materials.  5th graders and above can check out CPS's new system, FirstClass.  It is currently a work in progress as everyone across the school learns the new system.  Ask your teacher for your CPS email address and password.

GradeNetwork
Ravenswood School 7th & 8th graders: monitor your grades and progress 24/7.  GradeNetwork is a web-based class grade management tool.  You are issued a user ID and password to access your grades and monitor your progress.  Ask your teacher if they have an ID and password for you and if so, check it out.
