RAVENSWOOD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Ravenswood School Admissions & Enrollment Information.
Ravenswood Elementary is a "Fine & Performing Arts Magnet Cluster" School. This Magnet Cluster status combines the best of both worlds in that we retain our Neighborhood School status and our admissions remain open to students living within our Attendance Area. You can view our Attendance Area by Map or, more specifically, by Street Address.
If you live within the Attendance Area and your child is in Kindergarten or older, you are automatically guaranteed admission to our school. Come to the school office between 8:00am and 3:00pm to enroll your child. You will need to bring your child's original birth certificate, social security card, immunization record, and two documents proving your address.
If you live outside of the Attendance Area, all Kindergarten and older applicants will be entered into CPS's computerized lottery.
For a standard application and complete application and lottery procedure information, please review CPS's Application Procedures for Elementary. Applications for Fall admission are due by December of the previous year. Prospective parents will be notified of the lottery results in early March. You do not need to wait until Fall to apply and are encouraged to check for available spaces throughout the year. Additionally, because we are a Magnet Cluster, spaces are always reserved for the admission of neighborhood students.
For complete school registration and medical requirement information, please review CPS's Elementary School Registration Checklist and The Illinois State Board of Education Health Examiniations Update. Kindergarten, 2nd and 6th Grade students are also required to receive Vision and Dental Exams. Please review these Health Requirements where you can also print out the approprate forms you'll need. For additional information, please contact our School Administator, Teresa Bermudez or call the school office at 773-534-5525.
For information about our Pre-school Programs, applications forms, enrollment procedures and medical requirements, please see our Pre-K page as these guidelines differ from our K-8 procedures.
